A Small Shift That Changes Everything
Ever noticed how fast we decide something’s 'bad' the second it doesn’t go exactly as planned?
One tiny hiccup and boom the whole day feels like it’s spiralling.
But imagine this... What if you took even half of that energy you spend scanning for what’s wrong and used it to look for what’s already right?
What if you treated blessings the same way your brain hunts for problems? Just think about how wildly different your day would feel.
The truth is, there’s so much to be grateful for. But we’re often moving at lightning speed, so we zoom right past it.
Our brains default to spotting the thing that’s off instead of the hundred things that are working. (Hello negativity bias!)
Here's the thing though. Those tiny moments that pull you off centre are often the exact moments inviting you to pause, breathe, and realign.
Here’s what I know for sure. When you choose to see the gifts in your life, even the teeny tiny ones, everything shifts. Your heart feels lighter. Your mind softens. You feel grounded and inspired instead of spun out and reactive.
And, you already know this. Gratitude isn’t reserved for perfect days or big shiny milestones.
It lives in the everyday magic. The warm cup of coffee. The kind client email. The flash of clarity. Even the challenge that stretches you into your next level can be an invitation to say 'thank you'.
Life's overflowing with things to appreciate. The real question is whether you choose to notice them.
So this week, as my American friends gear up for Thanksgiving, I invite you to slow it all down for just a moment. Look for something good. Something simple. Something that makes you smile.
And let yourself be grateful on purpose.
