Why We Need to Build a New Model—Especially Now
We're living through heavy times.
The kind of times that can leave you feeling overwhelmed, angry, exhausted, and numb.
The kind where the noise feels constant. Division, fear, polarity, and hate, playing on repeat.
And honestly?
Anger makes sense.
Anger is a natural response when we witness injustice, cruelty, or systems that clearly no longer serve humanity.
But anger, on its own, isn’t the destination. It’s information. It’s energy. And when consciously directed, it can become fuel.
Buckminster Fuller said it best:
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
This quote feels especially relevant right now.
Because fighting what’s broken... arguing with it, reacting to it, letting it consume our nervous systems, only keeps us entangled in the very thing we want to dismantle.
Real change begins when we hold a vision beyond our current circumstances.
Look. I’m not talking about ignoring what’s happening, or bypassing your feelings. What I am talking about is refusing to let the present moment define what’s possible.
This is the work:
To consciously and deliberately focus your energy on what you're building, not just what you're against.
To let anger sharpen your clarity instead of hardening your heart.
To let grief deepen your compassion instead of collapsing your hope.
To let discomfort move you into aligned action instead of paralysis.
Every outdated system rooted in hate, fear, and separation loses power the moment enough people stop feeding it and start investing in something better.
A new and better way to lead, relate, create, and show up in business, community, and life.
This doesn’t require you to do everything,.but it does require you and every one of us to do something, from where we're at, with what we have, guided by the vision we choose to hold.
So, if the world feels heavy right now, ask yourself:
- What am I being called to build?
- What values do I want my actions to reinforce?
- What future am I willing to stand for—especially when it’s not yet visible?
Because when enough of us stay focused on the new model, the old one doesn’t need to be fought...
It simply becomes obsolete.
