Why you should build your community while working on your mission.

I see too many entrepreneurs hold themselves back, waiting for their project to be fully complete before they ever put themselves out there.

They stop themselves from launching because they think they need a finished product first.

Can you relate?

Now, don’t get me wrong, having something tangible to offer is important.

But what if there’s another way?

I see this a lot, especially with aspiring authors I work with. Many believe they have to wait until their book is finished before showing up, sharing, and connecting with future readers.

But here’s a powerful truth: your future readers (and customers) don’t just want your polished book. They want to be part of your journey, too.

Whether you’re just in your beginning stage or have fallen off track on your work and project, remember this: your message and work still matters.

Someone out there is waiting for your story, support, lessons, and truth.

Your work and words could be the catalyst for someone’s healing, breakthrough, or transformation. But they won’t find you if you’re hiding in the shadows, waiting for perfection.

Take my aspiring authors. Writing a book isn’t only about the chapters they complete. It’s about the lives their book will eventually touch. And the best time to start building that bridge to their readers is NOW, while they’re still writing.

Think about it:

  • What would happen if they invited people into their process?
  • What if their behind-the-scenes moments, the late-night writing sessions, the breakthroughs, the blocks all became part of their story?
  • What if sharing the messy middle made readers fall in love with the message even more?

This is the same if you want to create a new product.

I also come across people spending countless time building an online program before they launch it out to others.

I seriously want to yell, ‘Stop!' when I see this, because they’re pouring time and energy into something that hasn’t even been tested.

Most don’t realize they could launch a simple beta version, start getting paid, and co-create with their audience, while getting real-time feedback and building something people actually want.

I can’t underscore enough how important and magnetic your journey is. It draws the right people to your work before it’s ever launched, printed or published.

It builds anticipation, loyalty, and trust.

So, if you’ve fallen off track in creating your work or going through what is known as the 'creative cul de sac', take this as your reminder to pause, reset, and recommit.

Not just to creating your work, but to showing up and being seen.

Show up. Share. Connect!

Let your audience become your accountability partners, cheerleaders, and future buyers and champions. Your work matters, and the world is waiting for your voice.

Don’t wait until the final draft to let them in.
