Are you Manifesting the wrong in your life?Sep 22, 2013
You see? I knew it!
I told you this would happen!
I knew you would do this to me!
How many of us have uttered these phrases or similar ones to them at various times in our lives? How right and justified we feel to be proven true in our conviction that something negative or wrong happened in our personal or professional lives. WE WERE RIGHT AGAIN!
But what a hollow victory it is though. It’s truly nothing to celebrate when something happens in our lives that hurts our feelings, disappoints us, or makes us angry.
Why then do we work so hard to prove a negative truth instead of spending our energy on creating a positive one?
Negativity begets negativity. In other words, when we put negative thoughts out into the world, why would we expect to reap positive results from it? The bible talks about reaping what we sow. Can this not apply to thoughts as well as actions? If we treat people badly or do bad things in life, it is inevitable that it will at some point come back to us. One of the lessons I’ve been trying to teach my six year old is that she must treat people the way she would like to be treated. It’s usually in reference to how she treats her 3 year old sister, but it’s a lesson I hope will stay with her as she grows up. My mother has always been a firm believer in treating people kindly so that it will come back in a positive light on her children (me) and now her grandchildren. This is not an uncommon or difficult lesson for adults to know…negative actions will incur negative reactions. Well, that’s easy enough to understand, right?
But our feelings are another matter. More complex and subtle than outward actions, our thoughts are sometimes easily led to a dark place where we tell ourselves that only bad things can happen and that we are not deserving of the good things that we wish to have.
Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same. ~Francesca Reigler
Ask yourselves this? Are you working hard to be happy today? I think that question would give many of us pause (and I do not exclude myself in this). We wake up each morning rushing to go to work, to care for families, to get things done. We move from habit and although we may be grateful for the many wonderful things in our lives, we may not always be working on being happy in our lives. We are so quick to find what is wrong. We are so quick to create stories about what is not right in our lives, our jobs, and our relationships. We place blame on others for making us unhappy, but just how hard are we working on making ourselves HAPPY?
Everything that happens to you is a reflection of what you believe about yourself. We cannot outperform our level of self-esteem. We cannot draw to ourselves more than we think we are worth.
~ Iyanla Vanzant
Do you think you are worthy of happiness, of positive outcomes? If not, then can you be surprised if they do not come to you? Negativity is contagious. When you think and voice those dark feelings, you will attract dark things. So then does it not make sense that if you wish to attract positive (light) things to your life that you should endeavour to think and behave in a way that would attract these things to you? So that the next time you use one of the phrases that you read at the beginning of this article, it will be for a different purpose.
See? I knew it! I KNEW IT WOULD BE A GREAT DAY!
I told you this would happen! I’M SO HAPPY!
Starting manifesting the RIGHT in your life by thinking and behaving with positivity; don’t forget….
Positivity is contagious too!
